Gothic is not a costume aesthetic. Done well, it is the quietest, most sophisticated nail genre we paint — oxblood gels with the depth of a stained-glass window, hand-laid lace in fine-line gel work, the kind of moody florals that read more Pre-Raphaelite than Halloween.
The customers who buy our gothic collection write us thank-you notes in fountain pen and reorder once a season. Gothic press on nails, dark romance nails, vampy nails, alt-girl nails — the whole vocabulary lives here, and every set has been painted by hand in our studio.
The collection runs on five core designs. Gothic Rose, our flagship, painted in deep wine-burgundy gel layers built to the depth of a real salon manicure. Ruby Lace, with hand-painted fine-line lacework that no printer has ever convincingly replicated — the lines have actual brushstroke, the negative space breathes. Poe Inspired, the literary set: hand-painted raven motifs, ink-black grounds, a tiny gold detail you have to look twice to catch. Smokeveil, our smoky chrome translation of the dark-romance trend, hand-laid pigment over a flexed mirror base. Cherry Spark, when the gothic mood wants a wet, oxblood-red gloss instead of a matte. Every set is built on premium soft-gel tips, painted layer by layer, UV-cured four to six times, and finished with either a high-gloss or velvet-matte top coat depending on the design.
Each gothic set ships with 12+ sizes per finger position, free first-order sizing kit, prep kit, and our 30-day return on unworn sets. Wear 2-4 weeks, reuse 5-10 times. The palette is dark; the construction is not.
Gothic is one of the most-detailed mood lines in our handmade press-on nails studio — hand-painted depth that printed sets cannot fake.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do dark gel colors look the same as the product photos in person?
Yes, and arguably better. Our oxbloods, deep wines, and ink-blacks are built in six to ten thin gel layers, which is what gives them the wet, dimensional depth you see in the listing photos. Printed dark nails tend to flatten under indoor light because the pigment sits on a single plane.
Are gothic press-ons only for Halloween or alt-girl style?
No. Our most-loyal gothic customers wear Gothic Rose and Ruby Lace year-round to offices, weddings, gallery openings, and date nights. A well-painted oxblood almond reads as classic, not costumey — closer to a Bordeaux lipstick than a Halloween accessory.
Do you offer matte gothic finishes or only gloss?
Both. Designs like Smokeveil and select Gothic Rose variants ship in a velvet-matte top coat — buffed, not just brushed — so the finish reads as suede rather than plastic. Cherry Spark and Ruby Lace ship in our high-gloss top coat for the wet, lacquered look.
