How to Apply
Get a salon-finished look at home. Follow these steps for a secure, comfortable fit that lasts.

What you need
Everything you need comes in the box, so you can start right away.
- 10 hand-painted nails, matched to your size
- Nail glue for 2 to 4 weeks of wear
- 2 sheets of adhesive tabs for 3 to 7 days of wear
- 2 alcohol pads to remove oils before you apply
- Cuticle pusher to push back cuticles
- Mini nail file to shape and lightly buff your natural nails
Check your fit first
Lay out your nails and match one to each finger before you start. Each nail should cover your natural nail from side to side without gaps.
Between two sizes?
Choose the larger size and gently file the sides to fit. A nail that is too narrow leaves gaps at the sides, and that is where lifting starts. See our sizing guide for three ways to measure.

Apply with nail glue
Step 1
Prep your nails
Wash and dry your hands. Push back your cuticles with the wooden stick, shape and lightly buff your natural nails, then wipe each nail with the alcohol pad. Skin oils are the main reason nails lift, so don't skip this.
Step 2
Apply the glue
Spread a thin, even layer of glue on your natural nail and a small drop on the back of the Handora nail. Glue on both surfaces makes a stronger bond.
Step 3
Press and hold
Line the nail up with your cuticle line, place it at a slight downward angle, then press down firmly for 10 to 20 seconds. Wipe away any extra glue before it dries.
Step 4
Seal the edges
For the longest wear, run a hair-thin line of glue along the cuticle edge and the tip to seal the seams.
Step 5
Let it set
Glue sets within about a minute but needs around 2 hours to fully cure. Avoid water and heavy gripping in that time. Applying right before bed works well.
Best for 3 to 7 days, a weekend or an event

Step 1
Prep your nails
Push back your cuticles, buff lightly and wipe each nail with the alcohol pad.
Step 2
Place the tab
Peel a tab from the sheet and press its sticky side onto your natural nail, smoothing out any air bubbles.
Step 3
Peel and press
Peel off the top film, line the press-on up with your cuticle and press firmly for 10 to 20 seconds.
Aftercare for longer wear
- Wait 2 hours after applying before water contact.
- Wear gloves for dishes, cleaning and other wet work.
- Use cuticle oil on the cuticle only, never under the edge of the nail.
- Quick showers are fine. Skip long hot baths and hot tubs.
- Don't use your nails as tools for opening cans or peeling stickers.

Common questions
Can I shower right after applying?
Wait at least 2 hours so the glue can fully cure.
A nail is lifting at the edge. What should I do?
Dab a little glue under the lifted edge with a toothpick, press for a few seconds and wipe away any excess.
How long will my nails last?
2 to 4 weeks per application with glue, or 3 to 7 days with tabs. With proper removal, a set can be worn 5 to 10 times.
How do I take them off?
Never pry or pull them off. Soak for 15 to 20 minutes in acetone, or use Handora Magic Remover (5 to 10 minutes, gentler). See our removal guide.
Will press-ons damage my natural nails?
Only when they are removed incorrectly. Soak them loose instead of forcing them off and your natural nails stay healthy.
Can I wear my set again?
Yes. Clean off the old glue, store the nails in their tray and reapply with fresh glue or new tabs. Our care guide walks you through it.
